Entertainment: "A visionary new miniseries event from the
bestselling fantasy novels by Philip José Farmer." Riverworld
will be coming in 2010 to Syfy. The official

Like in the first film
there are horses and a lot of fighting is going on, but it is too early
to tell anything about the quality just based on this trailer. Check it

week both editions of the new novel by Farmer & Eckert, The
Evil in Pemberley House, were delivered at our house. Because
of our vacation one of the neighbors had accepted the books for me. I
haven't had the time yet to read it, but have added a new book page
with both editions, the trade and the limited, signed one, to the site.
SubPress did again a wonderful job with the books and also with the
chapbook that comes with the limited edition. Glen Orbik has made a
gorgeous cover, that does go very well with the novel. Win Scott Eckert
happy with the books: "All in all, I'm incredibly pleased, and feel
very lucky. It's a beautiful package all around."
Both editions are still available for ordering with the publisher, Subterranean

are back from our vacation in Venice and at the Lago di Garda in
Italy. Lovely weather, nice food and wine and beer, a beautiful and
impressive city of Venice –with all the canals and
gondolas– and nice
places around the Lago with very old castles and fortresses.
I did find (only) two Italian Farmer books for my collection in the

On this vacation I have been able to read several books. One of them is
the novel Saturn's
Children by Charles Stross. It striked me that this novel
reminded me of a very short story by Phil, "The King of the Beasts".
Both stories share the same theme, reviving the extinct human species
from scratch –with just some DNA– by non-humans.
Otherwise these are completely different stories, buth both are good!
Two publications were
added on the book pages this month.
