A screen treatment for Star Trek, originally from early 1966, that was never submitted and thus never used for the tv series. DESCRIPTION: Win Scott Eckert: «...a treatment that actually could have been filmed for Star Trek. The story is a character-driven melodrama demonstrating the folly of unchecked ego and misplaced patriotism, right up 1960s Trek's alley ... it is interesting to note that the plot bears no little resemblance to a first season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "The Neutral Zone," in which the Enterprise crew finds floating in space the cryogenically frozen bodies of several humans from 1990s Earth.
